Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. Her most famous role is portraying Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. After exceling in dance and modelingshe wanted to give it a go at acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell was able to land commercials as well as appearances in television series. She got her break in the form of was cast in Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. Her acting talents were well-respected by critics as well as fans. Mitchell's cousin has the name of Lea Salonga who is a well-known musical theater singer and actress. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary for her early childhood, before transferring to West Vancouver Secondary. At the end of her teenage years she was modeling for a variety of companies across the world. After traveling across the globe to Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto and studied acting.
